Card of the Day – May 1st

Today’s Card of the Day celebrates “The Man of Steal”! On this date in 1991, Rickey Henderson became the all-time steals leader in Major League history. He passed Lou Brock with his 939th stolen base.

The following year on May 1st, Henderson became the first player to get 1,000 stolen bases. Henderson, the greatest leadoff man in MLB History was the most dynamic player in the game.

The Hall of Famer played 25 seasons in the big leagues. He recorded 3,055 hits in his career and is the all-time leader in Runs (2,295) and stolen bases (1,406). He was a 10-time All Star, AL MVP, two World Series titles, three Silver Sluggers and a Gold Glove.

The 1991 Score Rickey Henderson Season Highlights card is available for just under $2 on eBay. His 1980 Topps Rookie Card can be picked up for a little over $10 and his autographs can be picked up for around $25 on unlicensed cards.
