Today we take a moment to celebrate the loss of a true legend of the NFL. Don Shula passed away Monday at the age of 90.
Shula, the winningest coach in NFL History, started his football career as a player with the Cleveland Browns Baltimore Colts. He played 7 seasons with the Browns, Baltimore Colts and the Washington Redskins.
Shula began his head coaching career with the Baltimore Colts in 1963 who made him the youngest head coach in football at the age of 33 at the time. After 6 years at the helm of the Colts he would go on to spend 26 legendary seasons as the coach of the Miami Dolphins.
Don Shula was never pictured on a card during his time as a player. However, you can find cards from his time as a coach. Today’s Card of the Day features him with his son Dave Shula and is autographed by both coaches. You can find this and his other cards on eBay.
