On National Rescue Dog Day, we highlight a fun promotional set. In 1993, Milk Bone Super Star cards were inserted in specially marked boxes of Milk Bone treats.

Each box contained two cards featuring a player and his pup. There was also the chance to mail-in for the full set with multiple proofs of purchase and a small fee.

The 20 card set features Hall of Famers Barry Larkin, Craig Biggio, Tom Glavine, Larry Walker, Cal Ripken Jr and Paul Molitor. The cards feature quintessential 1990’s fashion and dogs so you know it’s a good stroll down memory lane.

You can pick up individual cards from the 1993 Milk Bone Super Stars set for a couple of dollars. The complete set will run you about $15-20 on eBay.
