NHL – The Road To The Stanley Cup

With Gary Bettman sharing the NHL’s plan to getting back on ice yesterday, hockey may be the first sport to return since the COVID-19 Pandemic caused sports to stop in March. Hockey’s regular season is officially over and when the league resumes the playoffs will begin.

The league will play out of two as of yet undetermined hub locations and feature 24 teams. It will be interesting to see the product once the teams return to the ice. This should be the most exciting and unpredictable postseason we have seen in many years.

According to Pro Hockey Rumors, the top four teams in each conference will play a round-robin tournament to determine seeding for the playoffs. The other teams in each conference will be matched up in a qualifying round.

Once the Playoffs start everyone will be playing for the Stanley Cup. The Stanley Cup has been featured on an iconic hologram card in the 1990-91 Pro Set card set. The card has a huge following and routinely sells for over $300.
