First things first, these aren’t technically retail packs, as they were only available on the USA Baseball Team Shop. But they aren’t really hobby either, so for our sake we’re calling them retail!

Every year USA baseball partners with Panini to produce these Rack sets that contain cards of the Collegiate National Team, the 18u Team and more recently some of the 15u players. The set is 70-card and also includes a few autographs (this year 3 and all numbered out of 150) and costs only $14.99.

Some of the players featured include Spencer Torkelson, Heston Kjerstad, Max Meyer, Asa Lacy and Austin Martin who were the first five picks in the draft last night. There are also many 18u and 15u that impact drafts down the line.

Here’s the autographs we got from our three sets.

Set 1:

Grade: A-

Getting 9 Autographs for $45 is hard to beat. The grade would have been a “A” if we hadn’t gotten a duplicate autograph. Here’s a breakdown of the players we pulled with their draft position or pre-draft ranking per Baseball America.

• Reid Detmers who was the 10th Pick in the Draft last night.
• Cole Wilcox was expected to be a 1st Round Pick but should be off the board early tonight. He was the 24th Ranked prospect by Baseball America.
• Tyler Brown is the 98th ranked prospect out of Vanderbilt and should be selected today.
• Nick Frasso is the 107th best prospect for the draft, which could make him a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
• Lucas Gordon (who we pulled two autographs of) is expected to attend the University of Texas in the fall.
• Colton Cowser is not eligible for the 2020 draft. He is expected to be a high 1st Round pick in the 2021 draft.
• Louis Rodriguez and Nolan Schubart were both members of the 15u Team and will not be eligible for the draft for a few years.
