We nearly struck out in our quest for a little midweek Retail Therapy. Our local Target store was completely wiped out. The closest Walmart was almost as bad. They did have a few clearance items left, so we grabbed a Value Pack or 2018 Donruss for $3.98. Each Value Pack contains 30 cards, so there is some value at this discounted price. 2018 features a strong group ofrookie headliners including Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Saquon Barkley.
Here’s what we found in our Value Pack.

Micheal Thomas – Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Life Insert, Emerson Griffen Blue Press Proof, Maurkice Pouncey Blue Press Proof, Stephon Gilmore Blue Press Proof, Daniel Carlson Rookie Blue Press Proof, Antonio Callaway Rated Rookie, Mike Gesicki Rated Rookie, Jay Ajayi, Joey Bosa, Sam Bradford, Antonio Brown, Isaiah Crowell, John Elway, Will Fuller V, Ted Ginn Jr., DeSean Jackson, Duke Johnson, Aaron Jones, Julio Jones, Ryan Kerrigan, Luke Kuechly, Marquise Lee, Doug Martin, Jerrick McKinnon, Marcus Peters, Xavier Rhodes, Daniel Sorensen, Breeland Speaks, Lawrence Taylor, Tre’Davious White.
Grade: C-
This grade definitely benefited from the reduced clearance price. We got four Blue Press Proof Cards, but two were defenders and the third was an Offensive Lineman. The one rookie Blue Press Proof we got was Daniel Carlson, a kicker. We also didn’t pull any base rookies of note, getting just Antonio Callaway and Mike Gesicki. The one insert card we pulled was a Michael Thomas Fantasy Life Card. This card features a large picture of ESPN’s Matthew Berry in the top right corner, which takes away from the overall aesthetic of the card.
While I didn’t fare very well with this pack, it also didn’t break the bank. I’d definitely prefer to open a Score Value Pack to a Donruss Value Pack, but in a pinch I’d consider trying another one of these.
