This week we begin the countdown to baseball’s Opening Day! Each day this week, we’ll feature a Retail Therapy of a baseball product. We kick the week off with a clearance Hanger Box of 2018 Topps Series One.
Each Hanger box contains 72 cards, in one clear plastic pack. Each box contains two Kris Bryant Highlights Cards and two exclusive Legends in the Making cards. The clearance pricing at our Walmart was $8.98 which is $1.01 less than the original retail price.
Series One features a great group of rookie cards including Rafael Devers, Ozzie Albies, Walker Buehler, Victor Robles, Rhys Hoskins, Alex Verdugo and Miguel Andujar. There are also lots of inserts and parallels that add value to this product.

This was an interesting break. I really enjoyed going through the cards from a previous year and having some hindsight on the rookie class. It was cool to get rookie cards of Clint Frazier, Rhys Hoskins, Brian Anderson and second year cards of Aaron Judge and Yoan Moncada. The Ozzie Albies 1983 Topps Baseball Insert card is just such a great looking card and was my favorite pull. Nothing of any significant value was pulled but the price point and the sheer number of cards made it a fun product to open. I’d definitely have no issues picking up more of these if I happen to see them again. Hopefully we’ll run into some Series 2 next time!
