Parish was enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003 after 21 year career in the NBA. He played in a record 1,611 games during stints with the Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets and the Chicago Bulls. For his career, he averaged 14.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
Nicknamed “The Chief” for his quiet, stoic demeanor he led by example on the court with his tough, gritty play and strong rebounding skills. Parish was a 9-time All-Star and was named to the NBA’s 50 Greatest Player list in 1996. He won 4 NBA Championships including one in his final season with the Chicago Bulls at age 43.
