Goldin Auctions is at it again! This time they’re auction off the 2009 Bowman Draft Mike Trout Superfractor Autograph. The card still has 20 days to go but already attracted 7 bids, with the opening bid set at $1,000,000. As of 8:00 PM EST on August 1st the card was at $1,300,000.
Per the auction listing, the cards condition is described as:
Encapsulated and graded MINT 9 by BGS, with signature graded “10” by Beckett. Rookie Card, and the most widely pursued debut-year collectible of our time. The perennial MVP candidate has placed a superb, blue ink signature on the obverse of this indescribably desirable, “Superfractors” commemorative. The card’s BGS condition report: Centering 9.5, Corners 9, Edges 9, Surface 9.
It will be fascinating to see where the bidding ends for this card in three weeks. This is definitely an auction we’ll have our eyes glued to and could challenge the September of 2016 sale of a Honus Wagner T206 that sold for $3,120,000 for the most expensive card ever. It’s almost definitely assured of passing the $1.8 million a LeBron James Exquisite Collection RPA sold for in mid-July.
