Retail Therapy: 2020 Bowman Multipack – Take 2!

We spent the weekend driving around looking for retail 2020 Topps Chrome blaster boxes for National Trading Card Day. While we were unable to find any of them we did find one stray 2020 Bowman Multipack at a Target. This is our second time opening a Multipack, you can see how we did the first time we tried one by clicking here.

The multipack contains two packs of 12 cards, with two of them being Bowman Chrome cards. There is also a bonus 5-card Camo Pack for added value. This year’s set features some of the top prospects in the minor league. With the possibility of pulling mega-prospect Jasson Dominguez and the 1st Licensed cards of 2019 #2 Pick Bobby Witt, Jr. or Robert Puason, there is a great chance to get a big hit.

Here’s what we got on the second go-round.

Pack 1:

Astros Talent Pipeline (Freudis Nova, Forrest Whitley, JJ Matijevic), Jeremy Peña Chrome, Bryan Mata Chrome, Tarik Skubal, Niko Hulsizer, Mike Yastrzemski, Willy Adames. Kris Bryant, Logan Davidson, Luis Castillo, Hanser Alberto, Mike Soroka.

Pack 2:

Jo Adell 1990 Bowman Insert, Ulrich Bojarski Chrome, Andrew Vaughn Chrome, Sean Murphy, Brusdar Graterol, Robel García, Jesus Lúzardo, Anthony Kay, Ketel Marte, Ryan Mountcastle, Dane Dunning, Estevan Florial.

Bonus Camo Pack:

Ulrich Bojarski, Jackson Rutledge, Jeremy Peña, Joey Cantillo, Ronaldo Hernández.

Grade: C-

The results this time around weren’t much different than the last time. As the saying goes, “fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” I’ve graded this pack lower as it was the second time we’ve tried these multipacks and the results are just very underwhelming.

As we mentioned last time, we’ll get extra value out of this once the minor league season return next year and will be able to use some of these cards for TTM (though the mail autograph) requests. I think I’ve reached the point where I’m done with 2020 Bowman and will move on to other products.
