Once MLB and the MLBPA formally agree to the health protocols for the upcoming season, we’ll be on our way to getting baseball back. The major schedule issues have been resolved and “Spring Training” will resume July 1st. The season will begin around July 24th and there will be a 60-game regular season. 10 teams will make the postseason this year.
There still is a lot of uncertainty for the season. There’s a possibility that some players may sit out the year rather than play for the prorated portion of their salary. There is also the chance that once teams get together to prepare for the season that an outbreak may happen and threaten to derail the season once again.
With the shortened season, it will be interesting to see the effect it has on the card and memorabilia markets. Will we see more dramatic price rises and falls in comparison to previous years?
Leave us a comment and tell us what you’re looking forward to this year!
